Trace USMS Custody Release

To find someone released from the U.S. Marshals Service prisoner system after a White County federal case, follow the court order and the records of the jail that physically held the person. There is no public USMS released-prisoner locator. The Marshals Service can manage custody during arrest, federal court proceedings, transport, and placement, while a local contract jail may hold the person. A missing BOP result does not prove release because a federal pretrial detainee may never enter federal sentenced-prison custody.

Date White County Federal Release

Record the source and date for every custody stage. A federal detention order can be followed by a release order, then a later remand or revocation. The holding jail may post movement after the court filing time. Keep the signed order date separate from the physical departure date and from the receiving agency’s intake date. That sequence is more accurate than choosing one label to represent the whole federal event.

For a conditional court release, read the filed order for the terms. Do not infer those terms from the absence of a custody match. If later federal supervision is at issue, the docket and responsible federal office are more direct sources than a jail roster. The jail record remains important for the narrow question of when the person left that facility and whether the departure was a transfer.

USMS Releases Serving White County

No dedicated U.S. Marshals detention facility was identified inside White County. The system-level page exists because federal custody can touch a White County case without placing the person in a BOP prison. USMS is responsible for federal prisoner matters that can span arrest, court custody, transportation, detention in a contract facility, acquittal, court release, and designation to BOP after sentence.

The public record path changes with the stage. A federal detention or release order gives the court’s legal direction. The actual holding jail records physical admission, movement, and departure. A later BOP record applies only if the person entered Bureau of Prisons sentenced custody. No single name search combines all three.

Confirm White County USMS Release

Start with the federal case number, defendant’s exact name, and the last known facility. Retrieve the signed detention or release order from the federal court docket. A docket is the filed case history. It can show whether the court ordered detention, release with conditions, acquittal, sentence, or later revocation.

  1. Identify the federal court and case number from a reliable case record.
  2. Read the signed detention or release order, not just a hearing calendar entry.
  3. Identify the jail that physically held the person under USMS authority.
  4. Ask that custodian for the admission, release, and movement records tied to the federal stay.
  5. If a prison sentence followed, search BOP by register number or exact name.
  6. If another authority received the person, continue with that agency’s locator or record office.

No public USMS release locator was found; the court order and actual jail record form the supported release path.

The Department of Justice description of USMS functions explains its federal prisoner custody and transportation role. It does not offer a current released-person database.

USMS Court Release Records

A court order and physical jail release answer related but different questions. The judge’s signed order supplies legal authority. The holding facility’s register or movement record shows when staff executed that order and whether another agency took custody. Administrative processing, another case, or a hold can delay departure after an order is entered.

Use PACER, the federal court records system, or the responsible clerk’s office for the filed order. Search by case number when possible. Read later docket entries for changed conditions, appeal, revocation, or a new detention event. A calendar entry or minute notation may lead to the signed document, but it should not replace it when exact terms matter.

If White County Jail physically held the federal detainee, request its existing register and movement records from the White County Sheriff or Jail. Research did not verify that White County is a current USMS contract jail, so do not assume local custody merely because the person has a White County connection.

White County Holding-Jail Proof

The actual custodian may be a county jail outside White County. Federal pretrial placement can depend on available contracts, court needs, security, and transport. A local connection is not a facility address. Determine the holding jail from the docket, counsel, a court record, or USMS communication before sending a records request.

When White County records are relevant, the permanent jail register contains name, offense, process, commitment date, and release date under Tennessee’s CTAS retention schedule. Booking, census, and movement records are listed for five years. A movement record can distinguish community departure from transport to another county, BOP, state custody, or immigration custody.

Pretrial detainee
A person held while a federal charge is pending, before a final sentence.
Contract jail
A local or other facility used to house a federal prisoner under an agreement.
Designation
The process of assigning a sentenced federal prisoner to a BOP institution.
Remand
A court direction placing or returning a person to custody.

USMS Versus BOP Custody

BOP is the correct public locator for federal sentenced prisoners. Search by BOP register, DCDC, FBI, or INS number, or by name with optional age, race, and sex. A past release date with Released or Not in BOP Custody supports departure from the BOP system. That result may still be followed by supervised release or another custodian.

A federal pretrial defendant who was acquitted, released on conditions, or had a charge dismissed may never reach BOP. A no-match in BOP is therefore neutral unless sentenced BOP custody was already known. Return to the federal docket and the holding facility rather than converting absence into a release claim.

The Justice Department locator route points sentenced federal inmate searches to BOP. It does not provide a parallel USMS release archive. This agency boundary is the central fact for White County federal inquiries.

Transfers After USMS Custody

Leaving USMS-managed custody can lead to BOP, a Tennessee facility, a county jail, ICE, or the community under a court order. Identify the destination before describing the event. A BOP designation means federal sentenced custody continues. A TDOC result means state custody or supervision is involved. An ICE handoff begins a separate immigration-custody inquiry.

If records seem to conflict, place them on a timeline. State the federal court order date, the holding jail’s physical departure date, and the receiving agency’s later status. Each may be correct. A transfer can also produce short data delays while the sending and receiving systems update.

White County’s own roster is described as a lookup for people housed in the jail. It is not a federal release list. Absence from that roster says nothing about a person never housed there, transferred elsewhere, or released under a federal order. The jail register and movement record are stronger.

Request USMS Release Proof

Ask for existing documents with enough detail to identify them. For the court, request the detention order, release order, judgment, or later supervision order in the named federal case. For the holding facility, request records showing admission, departure date, and any receiving agency. Include the full name, date of birth when appropriate, case number, known booking number, and estimated custody dates.

When White County is the custodian, contact the Sheriff or Jail at 111 Depot Street, Suite 4, Sparta, Tennessee 38583, phone 931-836-2700. Call before visiting because no public release-record service hours were verified. Tennessee public-record rules and retention schedules govern county copies, while federal court and USMS records follow their own processes.

Do not ask BOP to certify a pretrial release if BOP never held the person. Do not ask White County to explain a federal docket it did not create. Direct each part to the agency that made or received the record. The White County released inmate record route gives the local request steps when a county stay is confirmed.

Note: Research found no public USMS released-person locator and no dedicated USMS facility inside White County.

Federal Release Verification Sequence

The strongest sequence begins with jurisdiction. Confirm that the matter was federal, then separate pretrial USMS custody from sentenced BOP custody. Retrieve the court order. Identify the actual holding facility. Confirm physical departure. Only then check a receiving agency or the terms of supervised release.

This method avoids two common mistakes. First, a BOP no-match is not proof of release for a person who never entered BOP. Second, a court release order is not proof that every hold was cleared at once. The signed order and the custodian’s register answer different parts of the event.

No official record should be stretched beyond its scope. A federal order gives legal authority. A jail record gives facility movement. BOP gives federal sentenced-custody status. ICE gives immigration-custody status. TDOC gives Tennessee felony custody or supervision. Naming the source keeps the result accurate.
